You’ve likely noticed the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) logo throughout our website. Dr. Andrews is a trained TBRI® Practitioner. Created by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at Texas Christian University, TBRI® is an attachment and research-based, trauma- informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.
TBRI® is based on many years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research. The TBRI® model is being used worldwide in over 25 countries in orphanages and other child-serving organizations. Here in the U.S it is used in residential facilities, group homes, schools, camps, juvenile justice facilities and courts, with survivors of sex trafficking, in faith communities, clinical practices, and even in law enforcement.
Dr. Andrews uses TBRI® principles in every aspect of his work, including parent and staff training for foster & amp; adoption organizations, support groups, and Parent-to-Parent Coaching.™ Dr. Andrews shares, “I have seen many of treatment models come and go over my thirty-plus years working as a therapist, and now with Adoptive Family Resources, Inc. In my book, TBRI® is the most practical and effective model of working with traumatized children that I’ve come across.”
